Perhaps the initial "purchase"/obtaining of a camouflage being one that can be applied with bonuses for ONE ship, before it is permanently added to your Camouflage Library to be used a "basic" 3% det/4% dis on a Type 5 Layer on the rest of your ships. You could then add missions like there currently are for ship lines, for a seasonal or unique camouflage to be obtained for collectors/personalization. This still does not render the current usage of camouflages obsolete! They can still be "bonus" camouflages that add benefits like they currently do, 100% XP, 100% Free XP, 20% Credits, etc, that can be obtained as they currently are and it does not hinder the current "economic model" for camouflages. The current Type 5 Camouflage would turn into a "basic" camouflage like it currently is, but you can choose any camouflage within your Camouflage Library to be reflected for the exterior. Once a "seasonal" or "unique" camouflage as been obtained through progression missions, missions chests, etc, it is added to your Camouflage Library. Where am I going with this? Well, I think a slight reworking of the camouflage system to make our experiences more personalized is not a crazy request. Adding the same sense of progression and achievement ship lines provide would be one of the goals, as well as a system that allows us collectors to actually use the camouflages would be great. I love the system that has been designed for new ship trees being introduced, and working towards (and maybe even throwing in some of my own cash for doubloons to go a tier or two up for the camouflages) the start of a ship tree to get you to where the core of action is taking place (Tier 6, 8, and 10). The point of this post is not to toot my own horn, but to postulate an idea/game mechanic that will work both in WG's favor as well as the players/collectors. Much like my collection of ships, I have maintained a collection of every camouflage that has been given out since the game started. I will be honest, I only did a cursory pre-post search for similar topics, but I am surprised there are none at least recently (a couple pages of searching worth :P)! I know this is a personal choice, but I am sure there are at least a few others out there who DO NOT USE all of their "unique" camouflages we have procured over time.
